Homemade Stain Remover For White Clothes

Lynn mixes a three-ingredient stain paste out of Dawn, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, scrubs it onto the spots on a stack of white t-shirts with an old toothbrush, and washes them an hour later. She's trying to avoid buying bleach, and she shows the real before-and-after on each shirt at the end.
What Lynn shows you
- The small-batch ratio she gives out loud is equal parts: "one tablespoon of Dawn, one tablespoon of your peroxide, and a tablespoon of your baking soda," adjusted until it forms a paste.
- Whites only, and she means it. She stays careful around the pink shirt she's wearing, and says for colored clothes you should test first or "maybe even leave out the peroxide."
- She applies it with an old toothbrush, coating each individual spot, then lets the shirts sit about an hour before washing.
- She's honest about the results: most spots came out and one shirt "done excellent," but she points to a dark spot still showing and says she might re-wash that one.
- Leftovers keep in any small lidded container - a jelly jar, a baby food jar, or in her case just the bowl she mixed it in.
