About Lynn

"We Are Never Done" is how Lynn opens her channel, and she signs off as MeMaw. She started posting in June of 2021 and has been in the kitchen most days since — cooking easy Southern food and filming it for anyone who wants to cook along.

The food is plain and made from scratch: fried chicken and green beans, sausage gravy, fried potatoes and onions, salmon patties, Sunday supper. Alongside it is a long run of things she stopped buying and started making — heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, buttermilk, self-rising flour, pancake syrup, coffee creamer, laundry detergent, glass cleaner. In her own words, "We are all about saving money and using what we have."

The rest of it is the life around the cooking. Beans and rice in hard times. Canning apples and cucumbers for the pantry. Chicks under an incubator, and learning to tell a hen from a rooster. Tomatoes that need staking and a snake in the garden. Christmas treats, Thanksgiving sides, and, as she puts it, "a little of our life here, travels in our camper and lots of goodness in between."

Mostly it's an invitation. She asks folks to pull up a chair and sit at the table, and that's about the size of it — someone who likes to cook, showing you how she does it, on the chance it helps with supper at your house.

About this site

This site doesn't replace the channel — it's just an easier front door. The cooking, the recipes and the videos are all hers.

All of Small Town Southern Wife’s videos are here, sorted and searchable. And if you’d rather just ask a question the way you’d ask a friend, Ask Lynn answers from her own videos and links you to the moment she covers it.
