Right before Thanksgiving, Lynn mixes a homemade oven cleaner from lemon juice, blue Dawn, white vinegar, and water, because she does not want the smell of canned oven spray through the house. She sprays down a genuinely dirty oven, burned sugar from a sweet potato that boiled over, lets it soak, scrubs, and shows what one pass gets her.
What Lynn shows you
- She measures in ounces: 4 oz lemon juice, 2 oz blue Dawn, and 8 oz white vinegar, then tops it off with water. The captions garble the water amount, saying both "10 oz" and "8 oz" in the same breath, so watch her pour rather than trusting a number.
- She uses the cheap dollar-store lemon juice, noting it is 100% lemon juice, and distilled or filtered water.
- She mixes it in a recycled shampoo bottle so she has a squirt top to aim into the oven.
