Homemade Dusting Spray That Helps Keep Dust Away
Jump to the part you need
A homemade dusting spray Lynn makes as a stand-in for Pledge - water, white vinegar, a little oil, a bit of Dawn, and lemon essential oil, mixed in a mason jar and funneled into a spray bottle. She tests it on a dark dresser on camera so you can see what comes off.
What Lynn shows you
- Five things total: water, white vinegar, an oil of your choice, Dawn, and essential oil. She says the essential oil can be left out - it's only there for the scent.
- She uses about 10 drops of lemon essential oil, and notes she uses filtered water but "you can use just regular tap water."
- Because there's oil in it, it separates. She says to shake the bottle before each use "so you know your oil is mixed in good."
- She wipes with a white paper towel on purpose, so viewers can actually see the dust coming off the dark furniture.
- She labels the finished bottle with a marker so it doesn't get mixed up with her other homemade cleaners.
