Homemade Body Wash, Simple And Budget-Friendly
Jump to the part you need
Lynn mixes homemade body wash from a bottle of castile soap after the store-bought kind got too expensive. She adds oils for the dry skin that comes with winter, pumps it into a mason jar, and lathers some in a dish of water so you can see how it actually performs.
What Lynn shows you
- The base she describes is one cup of castile soap to half a cup of filtered or distilled water. She notes you could do a full cup of water instead, but she likes hers with more body: "I don't want to water that down too much."
- For dry winter skin she adds about two tablespoons of castor oil and around a teaspoon of liquid coconut oil, plus roughly six drops of lemongrass essential oil on top of the soap's own lavender scent.
- The batch comes out to exactly one pint, which she puts in a mason jar with a pump lid.
- She's upfront that it's thinner than store-bought body wash but says it still lathers, and that the same mix works as hand soap since castile soap is multi-purpose.
- Rather than telling you which oils to use, she says to look up what your own skin needs and pick essential oils on that basis. Amounts come from auto-generated captions — follow her measuring on screen before mixing a batch.
